The Fairmont Mayakoba El Camaleon Golf Course in Mexico

The world’s wealthiest 1 percent depend on Jetset Magazine to connect them to the best products and experiences available. Jetset Magazine releases print and online guides to everything from luxury car garages to golf courses. One of the golf courses that offers the best amenities is Fairmont Mayakoba’s El Camaleon in Riviera Maya, Mexico.

Legendary Australian golfer Greg Norman designed this course, which was inaugurated in 2006. The following year, the course hosted the Mayakoba Golf Classic, the very first PGA Tour event outside of the United States and Canada. The course traverses a tropical Mayan jungle, a Caribbean coastline, and a mangrove wetland, which makes it extremely unique and a gorgeous course to play.

For being a Norman design, El Camaleon is remarkably forgiving, although golfers who stray far from the fairways may find themselves in a swamp. A highlight of the course is the last hole, which features a subterranean limestone cave at the center of the drive zone. The entire course does a great job of incorporating natural features in a seamless fashion.
